SJ-HAA Cheerleading Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to SJ-HAA Cheerleading!  Below is some information regarding our program for 2016-2017 season.  Please review the information contained in this document prior to the first practice.  A mandatory Parents Meeting will be held during the 2nd practice to review this information, and to answer any questions you may have regarding our program.

Who is eligible for SJ-HAA Cheerleading? 
Our cheerleading program is open to all girls in Grades K-8

Practice times?
 Practices are 2 times a week for 1 ½ -2 hours each night 5:30-7:30 (Kindergarten cheerleaders will be 1hour  practices only)

Where are practices held? Holy Angels School – Grass Area (by the playground), RAIN PRACTICE will be located at the Athletic Building

What should my child wear/bring to practice? Team shirt, shorts or leggings, well fitting sneakers & hair must be pulled back and away from the face.  All athletes must have a refillable bottle of water / Gatorade.

When are games held, and how long do they last? Football games are Sunday afternoons 12 - 2 pm. Please refer to your Welcome Package (to be distributed in September) for more information or reach out to Coach Deborah Roy - schedule is not available, at this time.

UNIFORMS: VEST/SKIRT will be distributed at the fourth practice. Please ensure your cheerleader attends. The Athletic Building will be reserved for uniform distribution. A $75 security deposit will be due to collect the uniform. NO CHECKS ARE DEPOSITED UNTIL UNIFORM COLLECTION AT THE END OF THE SEASON

WARM UP uniform will be distributed before the 1st game and must be worn above uniform before games.

TEAM SHIRT will be distributed at the 1st practice and must be worn during practice

ACCESSORIES: Turtleneck / Shorts will be distributed with Vest/Skirt and a $25.00 check must be presented to collect

SNEAKERS: Solid white sneakers must be worn at all games / events ($13.99 @ Payless) White "No See Um" socks only)

BOWS: Game Bows will be distributed before the 1st game and must be worn at all games/functions. An extra bow can be purchased for $7.00

COMPETITION TEAM: Registration will be October 10th -November 1st (All other details TBD)

Volunteer needed: The success of Angels Cheerleading means the participation of parents throughout the year.  A back up / emergency cheer volunteer is needed. If you are available for most practices and games, and are willing to become part of the leadership team, please contact Coach Deb at the next meeting.

Cheerleading is a year-round activity. If your child will be participating in additional activities throughout the year, please let me know.  We will make accommodations as needed to support all student athletes
